DEMA Lab Services began in 2019 with a clear purpose: to empower clinical laboratories in Puerto Rico by
providing expertly crafted procedure manuals. Since then, we have grown into a trusted partner for laboratories
across the island,offering a wide range of services tailored to their needs.
How It All Started
Founded by Myrnaly Sepúlveda Bachier, a clinical laboratory professional with over 27 years of experience, DEMA Lab Services was built on a foundation of knowledge, dedication, and innovation. Myrnaly’s journey began in 1997, working as a clinical laboratory scientist, mastering various disciplines such as phlebotomy, general laboratory work, and bacteriology.
Her time as a supervisor and administrator of a private clinical laboratory gave her extensive experience in preparing documentation for inspections by the Puerto Rico Department of Health, CLIA, and even voluntary OSHA inspections. These experiences equipped her with the skills to create comprehensive procedure manuals and protocols, which became the cornerstone of DEMA Lab Services.
Expanding Our Expertise
Myrnaly’s diverse background also includes three years as a Sales Representative for the Diagnostic Division at Baragaño Pharmaceuticals, where she honed her business acumen. This allowed her to assist laboratories in acquiring new instruments, routine supplies, and evaluating contracts with precision to meet their unique needs.
Since 2005, she has been deeply involved in revenue cycle processes, including billing and reconciliation. This expertise led to the expansion of DEMA’s services to include consulting, external billing, and employee training to optimize laboratory operations. In 2021, Myrnaly earned her CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification, becoming one of the few CPC-certified professionals in Puerto Rico.
The Growth of DEMA
DEMA Consulting Services, named for the acronym “Dios Es Mi Ayudador” (God Is My Helper), officially launched in April 2019. The company quickly expanded its offerings, working with laboratories and other businesses across Puerto Rico.
The initial team included Marco A. Rivera, Diana Verónica Santiago, Joel A. Martínez, and Diana del C. Gracia, who played an integral role in the company’s growth. Today, DEMA Lab Services continues to expand its operations, adding new team members and clients while maintaining its commitment to excellence.
